Mystic Hogmanay on Loch Assynt, Scottish Highlands

This is a photo taken on New Year's Eve 2021.

I had resolved to take a trip over to the wonderful Achmelvich Beach, but along the way the landscapes were just too irresistible.

There was barely a breath of wind in the air, and each Loch passed along the way was glasslike and perfect reflections were to be encountered.

This particular image was captured early morning at Loch Assynt, and shows Ardvreck Castle and the crags in the distance.

My wonderful travelling companion was kind enough to photobomb the image (and in my opinion give it a touch of extra magic)...
